Vote for Seattle Prop. 1, The Seattle Library Levy

Seattle Proposition 1 is a nearly $480 million property tax levy on the August 4, 2026 primary ballot to fund The Seattle Public Library over seven years (2027–2033), replacing the expiring 2019 levy. It covers open operating hours at 27 branches, digital and physical collections, and building maintenance.

Cost: About $193 per year for the owner of a median-assessed $872,000 home

Budget Impact: Provides about 1/3rd of the total operating budget for library system.
