See earlier blog about Dr. Madoff. Adequately fund and fix IRS Tax capital gains at same rate as wage income Eliminate estate tax because of loopholes Create an inheritance tax (above say $1 million dollars), paid by inheritors The richest 1% have $55 Trillion in wealth but paid only 0.06% in taxes The richest 1% pay minimal taxes because they don’t take taxable wage income but instead borrow non-taxed money for living expenses. Wealth taxes are problematic; it taxes high income earners, who already pay heavy taxes. A Corporate Powers Reset bill for Washington has been drafted. Public support will be critical to move legislation to get money out of politics. The biggest action priorities right now are: Find out what our State League is doing to support Money Out of Politics! Attend the First MOP Coalition meeting 11:45a, Nov. 5th. Spread the word about the opportunity to get Money Out of Politics in Washington— to family, friends, and organizations. Write letters to the editor about Corporate Powers Reset & Transparent Election Initiative. Effective protests convert attention (“noise”) into pressure (“leverage”) by pairing tactics with a clear strategy. The core moves are to map who really holds power (and the secondary targets who influence them), broaden support by shifting neutrals and passive allies toward active support, and win the narrative with agile, values-based messaging. Movements sustain impact by coordinating inside–outside efforts and escalating in planned steps—while staying alert to negotiations used as stalling tactics. https://video.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/69550f8a1ce3be2cf53c34dc/97b2e620-b88a-4155-88d0-20c32808a712/playlist.m3u8 https://video.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/69550f8a1ce3be2cf53c34dc/97b2e620-b88a-4155-88d0-20c32808a712/thumbnail Strategies ‍Tactical Discipline Protesting, Strict Non-Violence. Successful movements prioritize sustained participation, narrative clarity, and disciplined nonviolent tactics—not because anger is absent, but because strategic nonviolence protects legitimacy and widens support. Movements rarely win by matching state coercion; they win by exposing misuse of power in ways that invite more people in rather than pushing them away. ‍ ‍. ‍ ‍Snider J, 2026 ‍ ‍ Chenoweth E, 2026. ‍ ‍ https://video.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/69550f8a1ce3be2cf53c34dc/94362837-2a5a-4eec-a672-133e44277d58/playlist.m3u8 https://video.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/69550f8a1ce3be2cf53c34dc/94362837-2a5a-4eec-a672-133e44277d58/thumbnail Strategies Strategies for Practical Radicals. Successful movements pair disciplined, nonviolent tactics with clear power analysis, coalition-building, narrative strategy, and planned escalation—while avoiding dynamics (like property damage or reactive escalation) that erode public support and give opponents “law and order” framing advantages. Create leverage against the real decision-makers—through power mapping (primary + secondary targets), shifting people along a spectrum of allies, and running agile, values-based messaging. Unite marginalized groups, exploit divisions among power-holders, and build nuanced alliances. Power shows up in multiple forms (ideological, political, economic, coercive, solidarity, disruptive), and movements often combine several “strategy models” (base-building, disruption, narrative shift, electoral work, inside–outside, momentum, collective care). A decentralized, directed network is more resilient than rigid hierarchies or purely leaderless movements—able to coordinate swarming action while resisting decapitation by repression. https://www.communitiesrising.us/activist-picnic daily 0.75 2026-10-15 https://www.communitiesrising.us/test daily 0.75 2026-10-15 https://www.communitiesrising.us/activist-picnic-1 daily 0.75 2026-10-15 https://www.communitiesrising.us/voteearlywa daily 0.75 2026-10-15
